Our applications for the 2024 exhibition of BASE, which is in its 8th year, started on www.base.ist and will end on June 15. Senior students who will graduate between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024 can apply.
BASE brings together the works of new graduates with the art world and art lovers every year with the participation of universities from all over Turkey; It aims to bring new talents to the field of creativity and culture and arts by encouraging them to continue their artistic production.
BASE, which has brought together approximately 850 newly graduated artists with nearly 100,000 visitors in the last 7 years, is visited by artists, curators, museums, galleries, collectors, academics, architects, creative sector workers and many art lovers.
This year's selection committee includes Ari Meşulam, Bahar Kizgut, Coşar Kulaksız, Daryo Beskinazi, Derya Yücel, Ergin Çavuşoğlu, Esra Aliçavuşoğlu, Gülay Semercioğlu, Nermin Er, Oya Delahaye, Serkan Özkaya, Sinan Demirtaş, Yaşam Şaşmazer and Yekhan Pınarlıgil. Derya Yücel will curate the exhibition.
Departments where applications are accepted; painting, traditional Turkish arts, sculpture, photography, video, cartoon-animation, graphic design, visual communication design, painting-crafts, ceramics and glass, visual arts, art design, textile and architecture. (Applications for fashion design/ready-made clothing design in textiles will not be evaluated, but works that use textile materials as a means of artistic expression in their works will be evaluated. In architecture, works with artistic expression are included in the evaluation, not architectural projects.)
We hope to receive applications from senior undergraduate and graduate students who will graduate between January 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024, and we ask for your support in announcing the application process to them. We will also consider the applications of students who have completed their courses but whose graduation may be delayed until February 2025.
