Universidad de Zaragoza from Spain and Sakarya University will meet at the exhibitions to be held in Sakarya on November 15 and in Teruel on 4 February.
Gri/s which is the title of the project, comes from gray that stands between black and white. Despite the contrasts that represent cultural differences between the two countries, it aims to coexist and emphasize common values. The Turkish word gray and the Spanish word Gris intertwine and underline the similarity with difference.
Exhibitions, beyond the borders, culture, identity, otherness, boundaries, partnership, hybridity, cohesion, belonging, etc. It stands out as an attempt to establish dialogue and partnership within the framework of concepts.
The artworks produced by thirteen artists from two countries through different techniques such as painting, video and installation can be seen at the Sakarya University, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture’s Art Gallery between 15-21 November and also at the Exhibition Hall of Fine Arts in the Teruel Campus of the University of Zaragoza between the dates of 4-10 February.
The exhibition is accompanied by a Turkish-English-Spanish book titled Gri/s, which consists of the works written by each artist, focusing on his own work.
